Safe: The Confrontation
Haru doesn’t know how to handle coming back, but he knows that he’s not ready for the conversation that awaits him. He may never be ready, but it‘s now or never at this point.
Or at least, that’s what he has to tell himself when he returns back to their apartment. The thumps of his footsteps echo across the wooden floor, startling Darwin from reading a book on the couch. Based off the blanket that’s draped across his lap so far, he seems to be camping out in the living room tonight, much to Haru’s surprise.
An agonizing look flashes in Darwin’s eyes when he first sees him, but he doesn’t verba

Haru doesn’t even stutter in English when she questions that — no, instead he almost starts sputtering in gibberish because he’s that surprised she even suggested such a thing. Before he can say anything, however, she’s already got her hand out, as if expecting him to pass it over.
If he can’t use it anyway, then he might as well.
“I didn’t know you smoked,” he finally admits, watching in fascination as she ignites his lighter with a hasty flick of her thumb, like she’s done it countless times before. “Is that allowed?”

Darwin‘s a living disaster, or at least that’s how he’s always viewed himself. He often had places to be in and things to do. He’s the textbook definition of a workaholic. Even his bones shake from the weight of all the pressure that he sets for himself.
He believes that he’s not good enough to execute all these ambitions, yet in order to get ahead in life, he’s still going to attempt them anyway.
As of today, he’s recently been diagnosed with general anxiety disorder at a mental health clinic his siblings finally pushed him into. Frankly, he should’ve expected that with how neurotic he can be
Her last boyfriend had broken up with her over text.
It occurred shortly after the news of her being infected by the Peppermint Virus had been sent out to her hometown back in the Alpha Clan. While her adoptive Alpha parents were worried sick over her well-being and were frantically trying to send her gifts and care-packages during her time in quarantine, her boyfriend just sent her a simple message (before she had her phone confiscated a week later by the medical staff).
